FROM STRUGGLE TO GRADUATION
Most of the children currently supported by RMI come from villages near the town of Fort Portal in western Uganda.
They are total orphans (have lost both parents) and live with guardians, rent a room, or are in boarding school. We also sponsor children whose only surviving parent is unable to provide for them, as well as children who have been abandoned by their parents.
Our policy is to support a child for as long as he/she is willing to pursue education until he/she obtains vocational training or a first degree.
Since the program began in 2005, Over the past 33 children have completed either vocational school or college and 18 of them are gainfully employed.
